Congratulations to Chihye Kim; Lee County’s 2017 STAR Student! She chose Ms. Deborah Howell, as her STAR Teacher. Ms. Howell taught Chihye 10th Grade Honors Literature.
The Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Education sponsor the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program. Students are selected on the basis of their SAT scores (during one test administration), class standing and scholastic averages.
On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at The Bindery at Oakland Library, Chihye and Ms. Howell were honored at the annual “Eggs and Issues” breakfast sponsored by the Lee County Chamber of Commerce, Colony Bank, Griffin Lumber & Hardware, Albany Technical College, and Sumter EMC to celebrate education in the county!
Chihye is a senior at Lee County High School and is the daughter of Byung-hoon Kim of Lee County. She will be attending Brown University. We are proud of Chihye & Ms. Howell and wish them continued success in regional and state competitions and in their future endeavors.
