Congratulations to Nicolette Mantica; Lee County’s 2015 STAR Student! She chose Mrs. Dotty Davis, as her STAR Teacher. Mrs. Davis taught Nicolette Theatre Arts/Fundamentals.
The Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Education sponsor the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program. Students are selected on the basis of their SAT scores (during one test administration), class standing and scholastic averages.
On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at The Bindery at Oakland Library, Nicolette and Mrs. Davis were honored at the annual “Eggs and Issues” breakfast sponsored by the Lee County Chamber of Commerce, Colony Bank, Darton State College, Albany Technical College, and CTSI to celebrate education in the county!
Nicolette is a senior at Lee County High School and is the daughter of Alejandro and Julie Mantica of Lee County. We are proud of Nicolette and Mrs. Davis and wish them continued success in regional and state competitions and in their future endeavors.
The featured speaker for the event was Dean Fabrizio, Physical Education Teacher and Head Football Coach at Lee County High School.
