City of Leesburg Announces Ground Breaking for New Public Works Building

LEESBURG – The City of Leesburg is pleased to announce the ground breaking ceremony for our Public Works Facility located at 288 Smithville Road Leesburg, Georgia 31763. The ceremony took place Monday February 24, 2014 at 5:00pm.

Leesburg is proud to be creating a facility that will serve the needs of residents for many years to come. This 12,600 square foot facility will house offices, a conference room for plan review and employee meetings as well as locker room facilities for employees and shop area for vehicle and equipment maintenance. It will enable employees to close off a portion of the shop area for work when temperatures are below comfortable and protect equipment from the elements.

The city has finished the contract process and expects to have the site development by Zane Grace Construction started immediately. Construction of the building by W. J. Kirksey Construction will begin soon after. The total cost of the project is $450,000 and expected to take 4-6 months to complete.
